Welcome to I Heart Warrenton! This is my blog, a place where I hope to share all there is to love about this sweet life in Warrenton, Virginia and give others a place to share that love as well.
At the core of it, my heart is to honor the people here, their work, and the life that beats here. I long for the everyday grace moments – ordinary but filled with glory – that happens exactly where we are at.
Eyes to See
What if we focused our eyes to seek out whatever is true, noble, and right about the work that is happening in our community?
What if we slowed down, quieted the noise and gave ourselves the chance to delight in whatever is pure, lovely and admirable about what we are experiencing in a given moment?
What if we took the time to acknowledge what is excellent or praiseworthy about our town and the people in it – and called out all that goodness, bringing light to light?
That’s an exercise in loving your community and walking a life of gratitude. I want more practice in it and this is my great hope: to walk this way and encourage others to do the same. Give us eyes to see and hearts full of thanksgiving.
Meet Thanh
We’re a young family that moved to Warrenton in 2016 and have loved getting to know our new community. A cool story: I had a gut feeling our current home was going to be the place we settled before I ever saw it in person or even knew where it was! I fell in love immediately driving into town. It’s true; I totally Heart Warrenton! 😉
I am a WAHM to a sharp and strong-willed toddler (have mercy!) and married to the tall & handsome green-eyed boy I’ve known since I was 13. We are small business owners for the past 9 years and have huge hearts for other small businesses. My favorite past time? Dabbling on the guitar, singing worship songs.
I immigrated here from Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), Vietnam. Growing up Buddhist, I became a Christian at the age of 13 and this faith is now at the core of who I am today. This is what propels me to wake up each day and have purpose.
I can’t help but to write about this great hope I have, about the everyday grace moments I experience — all because of God’s goodness. Reflections of the work happening in my heart (and other’s hearts, right here in our community) are the written words poured out on these pages. Thank you for reading them. #
